What is coaching?
Coaching is a supportive process that helps people move out of unhelpful patterns and into a more intentional, confident way of living.
In my work, I focus on helping people who feel stuck — whether that’s in habits, behaviours, addiction patterns, weight loss struggles, or a general sense of not moving forward in life.
Coaching is not about judgement or quick fixes. It is about understanding what is keeping someone stuck, and helping them create practical, sustainable change.
The kinds of patterns coaching can help with
People often come to coaching when they notice patterns like:
• Struggling to break habits that no longer serve them
• Feeling out of control around food, substances, or routines
• Repeated cycles of starting and stopping progress
• Knowing what they want to change, but not being able to maintain it
• Feeling stuck, unmotivated, or disconnected from confidence
These patterns are more common than people realise, and they are usually not about willpower alone.
How coaching works
Coaching helps by creating clarity and structure around change.
Together, we focus on:
• Understanding what is driving the current behaviour
• Identifying triggers, patterns, and obstacles
• Creating realistic steps forward that feel achievable
• Building consistency and accountability over time
The aim is not perfection — it is progress that actually lasts.
What coaching is not
Coaching is often misunderstood, so it’s important to be clear:
It is not:
• Therapy or psychological treatment
• A quick fix or motivational talk
• Someone telling you what to do
Instead, coaching is a collaborative process that helps you think differently, act differently, and gradually build a more stable sense of control and confidence in your life.
What clients often want to achieve
People usually come to coaching wanting some version of:
• Feeling more in control of their choices
• Breaking cycles that feel repetitive or draining
• Improving health, habits, or lifestyle consistency
• Building confidence and self-trust
• Moving forward in a way that feels sustainable
Final thoughts
Change is rarely about one big decision. It is usually about learning how to respond differently to the same patterns over time.
Coaching provides structure, support, and perspective so that change becomes something you can actually maintain — not just start.
If this resonates with you, you are welcome to get in touch for a conversation.
